Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Lei Kezhong Paid a Courtesy Call on the Prime Minister of Lesotho

On 21 August 2019, H.E. Mr. Lei Kezhong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Lesotho, paid a courtesy call on the Right Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Motsoahae Thomas Thabane.

 

H.E. Mr. Lei conveyed the cordial greetings of H.E. Premier Li Keqiang of P. R. China to the Right Hon. Prime Minister Thabane, and expressed that he was greatly honored to be Ambassador to Lesotho. He said Chinese Government deeply valued the China-Lesotho friendship and practical cooperation in all fields. He indicated that China wished to take full advantage of implementing the outcomes of the 2018 FOCAC Beijing Summit and the consensus of the Leaders of the two countries, and jointly strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various fields so as to bring more tangible benefits to both peoples.

 

The Right Hon. Prime Minister Thabane extended warm welcome to H.E. Mr. Lei, and asked H.E. Mr. Lei to convey back the cordial greeting to H.E. Premier Li Keqiang. He spoke highly of the development of bilateral relations, and expressed his full confidence that the bilateral practical cooperation will achieve more results. The Right Hon. Prime Minister also assured H.E Mr. Lei that he and the Government of Lesotho would extend all necessary assistance and support during his tenure. 

 

Hon. Deputy Foreign Minister of Lesotho Halebonoe Sets'abi, Director of Asia & Pacific Directorate Mr. Matete Nena and Chief of Protocol Mr. Masuhla H. Leteka as well as Political Counsellor Mr. Song Changqing, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs Mr. Ma Guoliang from the Chinese Embassy attended the meeting.
