On June 4, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun attended the handing-over ceremony of small-scale donation to the government of Lesotho. The Right Honorable Prime Minister Matekane, Honorable Deputy Prime Minister Majara, Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Mpotjoane, and over 60 other government officials and representatives of local people attended the ceremony. Ambassador Yang and Honorable Minister Mpotjoane signed the handing-over certificate.
Ambassador Yang said that this batch of laptops and electric wheelchairs was presented by the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to the Government of Lesotho. The purpose is to affirm China’s support for Lesotho in caring for vulnerable groups and inspiring young people to keep up with the times and technology. We look forward to working together with Lesotho to implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and bring more benefits to the two countries and their people.

The electric wheelchairs will greatly improve the lives of the disabled in Lesotho, and the laptops will enhance the digital office proficiency. The donation, together with other projects of the Beijing Summit, implemented successively, has enriched the connotation of the China-Lesotho strategic partnership. A representative of the disabled in Lesotho gave an enthusiastic speech, expressing his deep gratitude to China for the help.
