On 14 September 2016, at the invitation of H.E. Dr. Sun Xianghua, Ambassador of China to Lesotho, His Majesty King Letsie III and Her Majesty Queen 'Masenate Mohato Seeiso, as well as the President of Senate HRH Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso and HRH Princess Mabereng Seeiso, visited Dr. Sun's residence for the Chinese traditional Mid-Autumn Festival eve.

Dr. Sun warmly welcomed the distinguished guests from the royal family and introduced that, the next day was the Mid-Autumn Festival, an important holiday of the Chinese people to gather with family members and friends since ancient time. The presence of the royal family brought abundant festive atmosphere and showed the importance attached by the royal family on China-Lesotho relations. He thanked the royal family for their continuous effort to promote the bilateral relations and wish China-Lesotho friendship everlasting.

His Majesty thanked Dr. Sun for the cordial invitation to experience the Mid-Autumn Festival Culture at the Chinese Ambassador's residence. He was quite pleased with the on-going development of the friendly relations between the Basotho people and the Chinese people, appreciated the assistance of the Chinese side to the Lesotho side, and expected new fruits of bilateral friendly cooperation.
