Chinese Embassy in Lesotho held a briefing on the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 and Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration
On November 12, the Chinese Embassy in Lesotho held a briefing session on United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Resolution 2758 and the establishment of the “Commemoration Day of Taiwan’s Restoration.” More than 40 participants attended the event, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Lejone, Acting Principal Secretary, Senior Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister, officials from various ministries, and representatives of major media outlets in Lesotho.

Ambassador Yang Xiaokun gave an in-depth presentation on the historical background, main content, and major significance of UNGA Resolution 2758. He pointed out that the Resolution solemnly confirms and fully embodies the one-China principle, determines Taiwan’s status, and carries authority that brooks no dispute or challenge. The Ambassador also introduced China’s establishment of the “Commemoration Day of Taiwan’s Restoration,” emphasizing the rock-solid position of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed appreciation for Lesotho’s long-standing and firm support for the one-China principle.

Minister Lejone spoke highly of the historical significance and legal validity of UNGA Resolution 2758, stressing that all countries should abide by this international norm and work together to uphold international fairness and justice. He reaffirmed Lesotho’s firm commitment to the one-China principle.
