Chinese Embassy in Lesotho Holds Award Ceremony for “Chinese Modernization in My Eyes” Competition and Farewell Reception for Students Departing for China
On August 7, the Chinese Embassy in Lesotho hosted the award ceremony for the “Chinese Modernization in My Eyes” competition, alongside a farewell reception for students and trainees about to embark on studies in China. The event brought together over 60 participants, including Minister of Education Professor Ntoi Rapapa, former Deputy Prime Minister Lesao Lehohla, competition participants, and representatives of students heading to China.

In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Yang Xiaokun expounded on the distinctive features, essential requirements, strategic roadmap, and global significance of Chinese modernization. He commended the contestants for sharing their perspectives on Chinese modernization and encouraged the departing students and trainees to seize the opportunity to study in China, gain first-hand experience of Chinese modernization, and contribute to the strengthening of China-Lesotho friendship and cooperation.
Minister Rapapa expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing support to Lesotho in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other fields. He urged the departing students to make the most of this valuable opportunity, excel in their studies, and dedicate their knowledge to national development, while fostering closer ties between the peoples of Lesotho and China.

Participants in the competition spoke highly of the rich connotations and far-reaching significance of Chinese modernization. Student representatives expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for providing scholarships and training opportunities, pledging to apply their learning in practice and serve as ambassadors of friendship between the two nations.
