On 19 December, the Chinese Embassy in Lesotho and the Foreign Ministry of Lesotho jointly held a tree-planting and retreat event. Over 100 people, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho, the Principle Secretary and staff of the Ministry, as well as diplomats from the Chinese Embassy, participated in the event.
Ambassador Yang Xiaokun introduced China's concepts of green development and a community with a shared future for mankind, the major breakthroughs in China-Lesotho relations this year, and the achievements of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the Foreign Ministry of Lesotho for its contributions to promoting friendly relations between China and Lesotho, and stated that he was willing to work with the Lesotho side to further consolidate the strategic partnership between China and Lesotho and promote the flourishing development of China-Lesotho friendship.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho, Hon. Lejone Mpotjoane, thanked China for its strong support for Lesotho's economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods. He expressed his willingness to closely cooperate with China in areas such as clean energy and environmental protection, continuously enhance the well-being of the people of both countries, and make greater contributions to the world's efforts to address climate change and implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
