On 23 January, the Chinese Embassy held a Spring Festival reception titled "Warm Welcome to Spring: Celebrating the Chinese New Year Together in 2025". Over 70 representatives of overseas Chinese communities, leaders of Chinese associations and enterprises, teachers from the Confucius Classroom and Institute as well as the medical team gathered together to celebrate the Spring Festival.

The reception began with the song "Ode to the Motherland". Ambassador Yang Xiaokun extended New Year greetings to all Chinese compatriots in Lesotho, introduced China’s important concepts and major achievements in 2024 and highlighted the significant role played by Chinese enterprises and institutions in deepening friendship and practical cooperation between China and Lesotho. He highly praised the spirit of solidarity, hard work and positive attitude of the Chinese communities in Lesotho. He also emphasized that the Embassy will continue to adhere to serving the people through diplomacy and provide assistance to solve problems for the overseas Chinese communities.

The scene was warm and festive, with a lively atmosphere. Representatives of overseas Chinese communities expressed that the overseas Chinese communities would always be closely connected with the motherland, work together in unity, act in accordance with law, actively integrate into and contribute to the local society and make positive contributions to the friendship between China and Lesotho.
