On 17 January, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun attended the Spring Festival Gala for Taiwan Compatriots in Lesotho, visited Taiwan compatriots and sent New Year blessings. Wu Songbai, former president of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, and Chen Junyu, president of the Lesotho Textile Exporters Association, were present.

Ambassador Yang pointed out that the mainland compatriots and Taiwan compatriots in Lesotho support each other and work together, which epitomizes the unity and mutual support of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Chinese mainland and Taiwan region belong to an inseparable community of a shared future. A strong country and a powerful nation are the guarantee of the survival, development and dignity of every Chinese, including Taiwan compatriots. I hope that compatriots on both sides of the Strait will continue to work together to promote the great cause of building China into a great country and achieving national rejuvenation.
