On January 11th, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun attended the Spring Festival Gala held by the Chinese community in Lesotho. About 300 people,including Lesotho’s Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade,Industry and Business Development, Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development, and overseas Chinese in Lesotho, participated in the event.

Ambassador Yang Xiaokun extended New Year’s greetings to all Chinese compatriots in Lesotho, introduced the major development achievements and important concepts of the country in 2024, the Spring Festival being successfully recognized as an intangible cultural heritage and its rich connotations, as well as the cooperation results between China and Lesotho in various fields. He highly praised the hardworking and solidarity of Chinese compatriots in Lesotho for their efforts in inheriting Chinese culture and integrating into the local society. He emphasized that the Embassy will continue to adhere to the principle of diplomacy for the people and help solve problems for the compatriots.

Lesotho's Minister of Trade,Industry and Business Development, Mokhethi Shelile, on behalf of the Lesotho government, extended New Year's greetings to all the Chinese people and thanked the Chinese compatriots in Lesotho for their contributions to the country's development. He reaffirmed Lesotho’s commitment to the one-China principle.

Spring Festival packages were distributed, expressing care and love for all Chinese compatriots in Lesotho. The atmosphere of joy and festivity prevailed throughout the event.
