On December 12, the Chinese Embassy in Lesotho held a scholar and media meeting. About 40 attendees, including representatives from LENA, LTV, Lesotho Times and other major media organizations,representatives of Lesotho scholars and all the diplomats of the Chinese Embassy participated in the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun expounded on the rich connotations of Xi Jinping Though in Diplomacy, such as the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, the “three major global initiatives”, the principles of sincerity,real-results, amity and good-faith, as well as theoretical innovations and great practices such as the new development model and Chinese modernization. He also highlighted the great significance of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the gratifying progress made by China and Lesotho in implementing the outcomes of the summit. He expressed his hope that the Lesotho media and academia would continue to be the disseminators of China-Lesotho friendship in the new year and consolidate the public opinion basis for the China-Lesotho strategic partnership.

Lesotho scholars and media representatives spoke highly of China’s development philosophy and foreign policy, especially its policy for cooperation with Africa, and expressed their gratitude to China for providing assistance to Lesotho’s economic development and people’s well-being. They said they would actively promote the friendship between China and Lesotho and make greater contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
