Ambassador Yang Xiaokun Inspects the Mpiti to Sehlaba-Thebe Road in Lesotho

From December 3rd to 4th, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun visited the Qacha’s Nek District to conduct an on-site inspection of the Mpiti to Sehlaba-Thebe Road, a joint initiative under the China-Lesotho Belt and Road cooperation. He was accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Transport Hon. Moteane, and officials from the Road Directorate, as well as Counsellor Lv Liangzhong from the Chinese Embassy.


Ambassador Yang expressed his warm regards to the project staff, listened to work reports, and inspected key sections of the road. He also engaged with the project team on issues such as hillside protection, road maintenance, and signage installation.


Hon. Moteane and others once again express their gratitude for China's assistance, fully recognizing the quality of the road and looking forward to more Chinese infrastructure projects contributing to the economic and social development of Lesotho. Ambassador Yang emphasizes that the Mpiti to Sehlaba-Thebe Road is an important achievement of China-Lesotho high-level practical cooperation, and it has been hailed by all sectors of Lesotho as "the most beautiful road." The road showcases Chinese quality and image. He encourages the project team to continue upholding the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in cooperation with Africa, and to maintain high standards and strict requirements in their work in Lesotho, making greater contributions to the continued deepening of China-Lesotho friendship.
