Ambassador Yang Xiaokun Attended Market Day at Masianokeng

On August 5, Ambassador Yang Xiaokun was invited to attend the Market Day at Masianokeng. The event was attended by His Majesty King Letsie III, Hon. Prime Minister Matheken, several cabinet ministers, senior officials from various government departments, and H.E. Dr. Qu Dongyu the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), along with approximately 1,000 local residents and diplomats from various countries.

During discussions with the King and Prime Minister, Ambassador Yang emphasized China's commitment to agricultural cooperation with Lesotho, aiming to enhance Lesotho's capacity for sustainable development and address food security issues. He highlighted the significant achievements of cooperative farm projects such as food aid, agricultural technical training, and Agriculture Storage and Logistic Infrastructure Project. The Lesotho side stated that China is a key development partner for Lesotho and expressed the willingness to continuously expand agricultural cooperation between the two countries, to promote bilateral relationship to a higher level.

The atmosphere of the Market Day was lively and enthusiastic, with guests visiting various exhibition areas including Mohair textiles, Lesotho's special grains, skincare products, agricultural machinery, and livestock, and listening to presentations from FAO representatives about agricultural development and nutritional data in Lesotho.
