On June 28, 2024, Mr Yang Xiaokun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Lesotho arrived in the country. He was welcomed at the airport by Mrs Manyakane Taele, Acting Director of the Asia-Pacific Realm of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho, and Mr Neo Bulane, Counsellor of the Protocol Department, along with representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Chinese enterprises, Chinese community and Chinese medical team.

Taele extended a warm welcome, on behalf of the Lesotho government, to Ambassador Yang upon his arrival, emphasized that they would fully support his work during his tenure. Ambassador Yang expressed gratitude for the warm reception and stated that it would be his great honor to serve as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Lesotho, particularly on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Lesotho. He further noted that he looks forward to working hand in hand with Lesotho friends to advance the cordial relations between the two countries, and the Chinese Embassy in Lesotho will continue its commitment to provide assistance and support for Chinese enterprises and community in Lesotho.
