On 4 July 2016, H.E. Dr. Sun Xianghua attended the official launch of the Chinese Community and Security Cooperation Centre.
Hon. Monyane Moleleki (Minister of Police and Public Safety), Hon. Tlohang Sekhamane (Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations), Principal Secretaries of the Ministry of Police and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Molahlehi Letsoepa (Commissioner of Police) and other senior government officials and police officers also attended this ceremony.
In his remarks, Dr. Sun highly appreciated Lesotho government's endeavor to create a safer environment for the Chinese Community in Lesotho, hoped the Lesotho side to provide their continuous support in safeguarding the legal rights and interests of the Chinese nationals, and called on relevant authorities to render their valuable assistance to this Centre.
Hon. Moleleki and Hon. Sekhamane both expressed their support to the centre in their remarks. They highly commended the friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples, also the contribution made by the Chinese Community to the social and economic development of Lesotho, pledged continuous friendship with the Chinese community, further enhancement of protecting the lives and property of the Chinese nationals in Lesotho, and safer environment for their investment.
Furthermore, Mr. Letoepa promised to continuously fight against crimes in Lesotho, and pledged unwavering support to the Centre and protection of the Chinese community.
The Centre is a registered non-profit organization jointly formed by the Chinese Community and the Lesotho Mounted Police Service.
